What is Spectrum of Mana? A tribute album to the 1993 SNES RPG "Secret of Mana", covering the entire soundtrack (3 discs, over 3 hours of music, all done collaboratively by 60+ musicians) as well as a 50 page fan art book. The best part? You can download it all for free.

This track is a remix of "A Wish," which is the music from the snowy winterland area. The source material is so mellow that I didn't want to do my standard thrash-metal approach. Instead, I went for a laid back "Massive Attack" mixed with "The Mermen" sort of feel for this, and think I did at least a halfway decent job getting there. The flute playing by Lauren Liebowitz really locked things in and made the whole track awesome. It's a nice contrast from my constant hack-job guitar playing. ;-)
