This was my very very FIRST live performance onstage, at the age of eight, back in 2011 during third grade in ADSAI, Philippines. Re-uploaded to this channel so you all can see! (Full story down below.) (Read me if you want to know the full story behind this video) As you can see from above, this was my first time performing in front of an actual audience. Singing has been a hobby I've been born with, but I never really got to sing in front of an audience apart from my family and close acquaintances. This was a very special day, for it was the moment when everything started to change; it was the day my father, who was in Saudi Arabia at the time, realized that his daughter had a "golden voice." It was only a normal day at school during third grade when a teacher came to our class suddenly, looking for volunteers who will perform at the upcoming Sportsfest event. I was known as a shy kid, and only very few people knew that I loved singing as a hobby. In the end, no one raised their hand. However, when the teacher was about to leave, it's like something suddenly sparked inside of me that day; the only thought I had at the time was that I HAD TO PERFORM. I couldn't miss the chance. So, surprisingly, for a rather shy and reserved little girl that I was, I stood up and raised my hand confidently, as if I was a completely different person for a moment, and volunteered to perform for the event. I still have NO idea how that happened, it just came to me naturally. I couldn't keep myself sitting silently while watching the opportunity go by. Fastforward to the actual event, at first, I thought it was a competition. So, I practiced really hard, and I was really nervous - I had never been on a stage before, and people were going to be watching me. I was a big fan of the currently airing Filipino show at the time, called "Mutya", and this song, "Sana", was its theme song.. I decided to sing it for it was really meaningful, and I loved the song so much. It was raining really hard too when I performed (as you can hear from the video...), and even if my legs were shaking and my chest was thumping really hard, I managed to pull through my very first, which I didn't know would be the very first performance of many many - which would be the beginning of everything in the field of music - and despite all the flaws in this performance, I was really happy to have been able to overcome my fear. Thanks to my classmate's Mom for recording this, because if she didn't, then my father never would've been able to find out that I had a talent in singing! Still, to this day, I have no clue as to how I found the courage to volunteer out of nowhere without any experience beforehand, but I'm very very relieved and glad I did because who knows what would've happened if I didn't. In the end, it turns out that it wasn't a singing competition, but regardless, it was one of the biggest turning points of my entire life. It's thanks to my family and all of you who keep inspiring and supporting me all the way as I grow older with each and every video. Thank you for your love and your encouragement!
