I had the balloon glitch happen on stream yesterday so I thought I'd make a quick vid of my favourite iteration of it which I've coined the "I-can't-believe-it's-not-a-softlock", along with a short explanation as to how this happens.

Basically if Tails enters a balloon right after Sonic exits it, when Tails is shot out afterwards his trajectory from the previous balloon is applied to Sonic as well. So in this case here, as Tails moves down, Sonic does as well, until shooting right. It's possible to move down a little more or less depending on the timing of Tails being shot, and the distance between balloons.

But then afterwards as you see, because you miss the next balloon you just kinda shoot off endlessly. Some things do stop you, but they are almost all softlocks (such as the edge of the stage, or certain objects inside walls). This is my favourite one that I've seen so far though. I've got no fucking clue as to why hitting the invincibility box starts moving you upwards, or why it changes your speed, but it looks pretty funny.

I do not believe there's any useful iteration of this glitch. It's possible to get sent all the way to the end of the stage, but as I mentioned before, it's a softlock as you just keep holding right against the edge of the stage (and Tails doesn't show up, so he can't hit the capsule either). There's a very small chance there's something useful, but I've yet to find it. For now it's mostly just an annoyance, as if this happens by accident you can softlock, or as you might've seen on stream yesterday in OO1, get sent to the wrong path and lose 20 seconds.
