John Farnham was born in Dagenham, England in 1949 but at the age of ten he emigrated with his family to Australia. That's where is music career blossomed and he has become the "Cliff Richard of Oz" having had #1 hits in the Australian charts in five consecutive decades. From 1969 and for five years they voted him "The King of Pop". "You're the Voice" was a single taken from his album "Whispering Jack" and made the Oz #1 in 1986 while the album held the album chart top spot for 25 weeks and became the second best-ever selling album in that country (a runner-up to Meatloaf's "Bat Out of Hell")
