2018 Changes to the YouTube Partner Program

Today, like many of you, I received an email from YouTube explaining the changes to the YouTube Partner Program. Essentially the monetisation of videos via Ad Revenue. I personally think the changes are quite dramatic,  possibly unnecessary and I'm struggling to see how they protect us.
