This neighborhood stray is just killing me.. I want to pet him so bad just to say I could! I've been told by the homeowners here to not even try because he can get mean if you try to touch him, but it's just not in me to let it go and ignore him. I physically cannot do it. So I sat within 2 feet of him with my arm outstretched toward him for nearly 10 minutes, talking to him the entire time (lol I must look crazy to someone who doesn't know me and/or cats).. And while he didn't move any closer at first, he was definitely not showing any signs of meanness at all. I feel like I have a chance here! Before I started shooting video, I was laying in the doorway, gradually moving closer while trying not to spook him away (which I realize now I definitely did at the end of this video), and he actually leaned his head toward me and sniffed my outstretched fingers! We didn't touch, but now I can say I CAME WITHIN INCHES OF HIM, and he didn't run off! First time I stayed here, he wouldn't even stay near the door if I was moving around inside the house. I'm excited.. But I have to wait for him to come around again tomorrow night to try again.. Wish me luck!
