Hu Jia, Chinese dissident in prison, wins Sakharov Prize

Hu Jia is in prison in China so he can not be in Strasbourg, France on Wednesday to receive the 2008 Sakharov Prize for freedom of thought. The European Parliament has awarded the 2008 to Hu Jia for his work on aids awareness and for better environmental policies in China. A delegation from the European parliament in november was banned from visiting Hu Jia. China has described the award as "a gross interference in China's domestic affairs." Distributed by Tubemogul.
