Location:Bharathapuzha bridge, Shoranur B-Cabin, Shoranur railway station Time: 17th July 2012 13:57 Look at the pathetic view of the so called Bharathapuzha river in the mid-monsoon period. The longest river in Kerala is now facing a silent death due to non-stop sand mining, soil and water pollution and drought. 17229 Thiruvananthapuram-Hyderabad Sabari express calmly crosses the bridge and diverges to Shoranur junction, where it loses 20-30 minutes in its travel on for loco reversal. The proposal for `Triangular station' was not approved and the development of nearby Vallatholnagar station for express train stopping is now under consideration of the Railways. Have a view at the biggest station in Kerala with 7 platforms which gets completely packed as Sabari enters the station. In platforms: 1. 66604 Shoranur-Coimbatore passenger (MEMU) 2. 56617 Shoranur-Nilambur passenger 3. 16605 Mangalore-Nagercoil Ernad express 4. 16107 Chennai Egmore-Mangalore express 5. 16301 Shoranur-Thiruvananthapuram Venad express 6. 17229 Thiruvananthapuram-Hyderabad Sabari express 7. Empty BCNA wagons without loco Heavy traffic junction na???.............
