This talk was given at a local TEDx event called TEDxTurku, produced independently of the TED Conferences. "Memory disease is modern day cancer,” says Tiina Butter, Master of Arts (Aalto University). Tiina Butter is a therapist, who has found that art-based methods can give people with memory disease new, meaningful experiences. In her talk she shows as that as people, we remain individuals right until the end even if we lose our memory and our close ones feel as if we are fading away from this world. Tiina Butter shows that this idea of fading away is not true. We have the possibility to interact with other people even under these conditions, which gives us the potential for meaningful experiences. Tiina Butter is an art therapist, Master of Arts (Aalto University) and an entrepreneur. Her passion is to enable people to understand themselves, each other, and the world surrounding them using images and words. She wants everybody to know, that people suffering from a memory disease have the right and the possibility to lead a meaningful life. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
