(21 Nov 2018) The Duchess of Sussex returned to a community kitchen in west London on Wednesday to see first-hand the progress made since a Grenfell charity cookbook came out. Meghan was making a return visit to the Hubb Community Kitchen, which is located near the the site of the deadly Grenfell Tower fire. This is Meghan's first solo project as a member of the royal family. The book, which was released in September, features over 50 recipes from women whose community was affected by the fire in Kensington in June 2017. In the immediate aftermath of the disaster, a group of women gathered at the Al Manaar Muslim Cultural Heritage Centre in west London, where they prepared fresh food for their families, friends and neighbours. In January 2018, the Duchess of Sussex met the group of women, who cooked twice a week. She has continued to make regular private visits to the kitchen. The dishes include coconut chicken curry, aubergine masala, caramelized plum upside-down cake, and spiced mint tea. Profits from the sales of the cook book support the Hubb Community Kitchen, helping to keep it open for up to seven days a week and to widen its reach to others in the community.
