After countless failed attempts at capturing the beauty of the Milky Way, Alix realized that it’s not the stars disappearing, but the major problem of light pollution. It is an important environmental issue that is typically swept under the rug by other more 'impending' problems. Though society generally focuses on these topics, such as air or water pollution, Alix seeks to shed some light on the seriousness of light pollution. It is leading to the night sky being slowly covered up, and it’s rendering stars and a majority of the Milky Way invisible. During his talk, Alix will raise awareness about this problem and propose how we can use the medium of photography to potentially save the night sky. Alix is a student. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
