DAYTON -- A fight over a tax cut for the wealthiest Americans could force all of our taxes to increase in 2013. Congress is currently debating the Bush tax cuts and last week, the Senate passed an extension of the cut only for people making less than 50,000 a year. But House Republicans have said they will not pass that plan. Instead, they are preparing a plan to cut taxes for everyone, including the wealthiest Americans. Congressman Steve Austria talked today with ABC 22/Fox 45 Anchor Chris Heath about the looming show-down.Austria said it's not wise to raise taxes on small business owners, which are among those who more than 50,000. They create the long-term sustainable jobs, the Congressman said.According to the IRS, less than 3 percent of American families make more than a quarter-million dollars a year and less than 4 percent of small businesses would be impacted.
