The Misfits - Shining appears on the album American Psycho (1997).

Songwriters: David Calabrese / Jerry Caiafa / Michael C. Emanuel / Paul Caiafa

American Psycho is an album by the Misfits. Released May 13, 1997, it was the first to be recorded and released without the band's founder and former leader Glenn Danzig. Bassist Jerry Only, after years of litigation, reached a settlement with Danzig and was granted the rights to use the band's name and image to record and perform. The album also marked the addition of singer Michale Graves and Dr. Chud on drums.

Originally, the album was going to be titled Dead Kings Rise, a play on the band's resurrection, but was changed when the title track didn't make it to the album. The album was produced by Daniel Rey, who has produced for artists such as the Ramones and White Zombie.

Lyrics:

Oh
Control the urge to spit up vile worms soul
Monsters seduced by her attention
Try draining the infection
Whoa-go
Go, oh

Locked in a world of vomit-soaked skin, heaven
Monsters seduced by her attention
She's draining the infection

"Carol Anne, " the beast is calling
"Carol Anne, Carol Anne, " she can hear souls sing
"Carol Anne, " the beast it needs you
Here it comes, here it comes
Reaching out somewhere from inside your TV
Whoa-go
Go, oh

Control the urge to spit up vile worms soul
Monsters seduced by her attention
Try draining the infection
Whoa-oh

"Carol Anne, " the beast is calling
"Carol Anne, Carol Anne, " she can hear souls sing
"Carol Anne, " the beast it needs you
Here it comes, here it comes
Reaching out somewhere from inside your TV

"Carol Anne, " the beast is calling
"Carol Anne, Carol Anne, " she can hear souls sing
"Carol Anne, " the beast it needs you
Here it comes, here it comes
Reaching out somewhere from inside your TV
