NZ Post’s general manager for Network Design and Capability, Mark Baker, speaks to John Campbell about the working conditions for the SOE’s contractors, which it calls “business partners”. The drivers aren’t considered employees, but they can’t drive for other companies. In other words, they're contractually committed to being faithful, but don't get the protections even the lowest paid employees enjoy.
