Try out this popular craft of Needle Felting. There are so many wonderful things you can create by sculpting wool into any shape you want. This tutorial will walk you through how to make a basket with a handle. There are many gorgeous colours of wool roving to choose from so each basket or project will be unique.

The supplies for this project are:
- A firm foam block for your working surface
- Felting needles in sizes 38 gauge triangle and 36 gauge star
- Optional: a multi needle felting tool
- 4 - 12" pipe cleaners
- 4" Styrofoam egg
- Sharpie pen to draw line on egg
- Wool batting or wool core. About 2"x6" piece
- Wool Roving in your choice of colour

Instructions:
- First I pulled off small thin pieces of wool roving in different colours.
- I then made a sandwich with a bottom layer of roving then a wool core layer then a top layer of roving. This makes it easier to place on the egg and holds in place.
- Then I used my felting needles and continued to felt around the egg for about 15 minutes or so.
- Then I shaped the rim of the basket by poking down on the top until it matched up with the black guide line I had drawn on the egg.
- Now I was ready to pull the felted basket off of the egg form
- I continued to felt the inside of the basket
- I made the handle from 4 pipe cleaners that I twisted together and wrapped in roving.
- The handle was then attached to the basket by needle felting first and then I added more roving on top of the handle ends for more support. I also felted on the inside of the basket to make sure the handle ends were nicely secured.
- Basket is now complete for you to add your trinkets, jewelry, eggs or whatever you like.
