♕ OCL SHOP: http://www.iChess.net/shop/ ♕ ARTICLE/PGN ►: http://www.iChess.net/?p=5623 ♕ STEWART'S WIN VS ROBSON: http://iChess.net/?p=4975 ♕ http://facebook.com/iChessnet ♕ http://twitter.com/OnlineChessLess Against the Blackburne Variation of the French defense, Ray played 6.Bg5 and 7.Nxf6+and then offered up his d-pawn with 9.Bc4 and 10.0-0. While Black was spending TIME with 10...Qb6 and 11...a6 (?), Ray was in full mobilization mode with 11.Qe2, 12.Rad1 and 13.Rfd1. With 14.Ne5 Ray posted his knight and pressured the sensitive d7 and f7 points in the black camp. Under pressure, Black sought to exchange liaght square bishops with 14...Bb5 (?), Robson pounced along the f-file with 15.Qf3! Black's 15...Bxc4 was met by the crushing 16.Bxf6! and the intermezzo 16...Bd5 ran into 17.Qh5! attacking f7 and threatening mate in two. When Black defended his f7 point with 17...Qc7, the knight sacrifice 18.Nxf7(!!) shattered the black position. With 20.Nxh8, Ray netted the exchange and the rook lift - 20.Rd3 brought resignation as the black king was about to be mauled by Ng6+ and R-g3.
