Офицерская Стрелковая школа Выпускной альбом 1899 The officer Rifle School Yearbook 1899 Music: March in B flat major by Anton Arensky Here I present another fascinating photo-montge album - On June 7, 1826, a training battalion was established and in the following year was remodelled to become the Model Infantry Regiment, consisting of two battalions, based in Tsarskoe Selo. On the initiative of Baron Andrei Nikolaevich Korf, a one-year Rifle Officer School was established for 114 people. In 1863, ModelInfantry Battalion joined the Rifle Officer School and became known as the Training Infantry Battalion. On March 14, 1882 - The training infantry battalion was transformed into the Officers' Shooting School for "training company commanders theoretically and practically to independently fulfill the duties that lie on the company commander and familiarise them with the rifle case." The school was located in Oranienbaum. The school accepted captains of infantry not older than 45 years, who had the qualification of commanding the company for at least 2 years and were preparing for the employment of staff officer posts (commanders of battalions).The term of study was 7 months (February 1 - September 1). The school had its own gunsmith, ballistics room, a museum of weapons, a fencing gym and shooting ranges…… The School was disbanded by The Provincial Government on July 5, 1917 for taking part in July demonstrations in Petrograd…….
