Transport Dept does not allow tourist taxis without digital meters and GPS to do commercial advertisement on their vehicles, however, private vehicles are allowed, which enhances additional income to the private taxis. Tourists taxis which have digital meters and GPS can take advantage of the policy. They have to obtain permission from respective regional transport authority. Transport dept has finalised fees for private vehicles to do commercial advertisement. Permission will be valid for 5 years and will be renewed for further period. Similarly, school buses are allowed to do only social or community themes advertisement but, they are not allowed to do commercial advertisement. Content related to advertisement must be legal, decent, honest and truthful. Advertisement depicting vulgar display, Tobacco, Alcohol, cigarettes, baby food, advertisements demeaning women and bad in taste is not permitted. Permission of advertisement will be cancelled without any notice if the 3 rules are violated. RTO and Goa police are authorized to take action against the violators.
