I love amoebas. They are fascinating to me in so many ways. I have some jars full of rocks and moss soaking in water. It's been about 7 or 8 months. I add tap water occasionally because the tap water provides extra minerals. The water has become so nasty over all these months. The amount of life in just a drop of this scummy water is amazing. I've noticed a large increase in amoebas and rotifers. The paramecium have become huge and you can see some of them swimming about with the unaided eye.
