There’s something dark in Rotscale’s Rest
In the marshes of the Myrewood
They killed Rotscale years ago
Tried to burn it with fire wood
But when that monster wouldn’t burn
They discovered the essence of dusk
And they tamed the marshes then
And built a village in the muck

Soon though the essence ran out
And they began to drill
Deep below where Roscale lay
And they drilled deeper still
But the foundations couldn’t hold
They collapsed into a heap
The city plunged into a crater
100 feet deep

Are you gonna move too fast
Or are you gonna just sit still
Either way the die is cast
Either way somebody gets killed

Some folks wanted to stay 
To gather up all the facts
Others wanted to build a walkway
To get up outtta there fast
In the end they split in two
Each thinking the other wrong
And the black essence overtook
Them all before too long

Drowned were the one’s that stayed
Starved were the ones that left
And time eventually forgot
The city of Rotscales rest
But something dark is growing there
As the Dusk recedes
Roscale’s corpse has come to life
It’s the bayou’s hour of need
