Here is a breakdown of drawing your handgun from a holster. The process is the same for OWB or IWB holsters, with- or without retention devices (Blackhawk Serpa Safariland ALS, etc).

Step 1. Get as good of a grip on the gun as you can while holstered
Step 2. Bring the weapon straight up out of the holster
Step 3. Orient the muzzle toward the threat/target
Step 4. Extend through the ready position
Step 5. Touch and press the trigger

Notice that we aren't using the High Compressed Ready position during presentation. The reason for that is because your hands have the instinctive ability to come together in space, so pausing at the HCR to establish a two-handed grip is unnecessary and inefficient. 
**Before I come off as a non-believer in HCR, I think it is an incredibly valuable position for the gun during reloads and after-action assessment, it is just not needed to present the gun.
