Police arrest man following grisly shooting spree in Texas

Police have reportedly arrested a 36-year-old man hiding in the woods after a shooting spree that killed five people in Terrell, Texas. Charles Everett Brownlow Jr.was captured early on Tuesday after a door-to-door manhunt. The 36-year-old's arrest capped a series of grisly discoveries as the killings unfolded in four different parts of the town.

Police found the body of a woman who had been shot in the head at one home on Monday afternoon. A short time later, firefighters spotted flames coming from Brownlow's home a few blocks away, and found another woman dead, with gunshot wounds. Late Monday night, a man and woman were found shot to death at another home, where a three-year-old boy was discovered alive in his bed. The fifth body, a man, was found at a convenience store and police chased a man fleeing in a car.

At a dead end, the driver ran into the woods and was found hiding in a creek about a mile from the store. Police did not give a motive for the shootings or identify the victims. A Terrell Police spokesman could not be reached for comment. Report by Mark Morris.
