Shawdi Amini is a sophomore at Canyon Crest Academy. She is an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual with many interests and a passion for living life to the fullest and helping others do the same. Shawdi is very social, loves to help those in need, and especially enjoys being around children. More than anything she likes to travel and learn about different cultures. Five Little Marbles highlights Shawdi’s recent experience traveling to a tiny and remote village in Kenya. She explores her reasons for going, what she learned from the villagers and the amazing emotional connection she made. Among the most impactful experiences were three young boys who had 5 little marbles as their only prized possession and absolutely nothing else. While that may not seem like much, they felt like the happiest and luckiest kids in that village. What an incredible perspective.
