(6 Dec 2018) Dozens of young people gathered on Thursday to celebrate the "Young and Future generations Day at COP24" in Katowice, Poland. Under the message "Youth Stepping Up Climate Action", teenagers and young activists in their 20's voiced their concerns and ideas coming from different regions such as Malaysia, Tuvalu and Brazil. The United Nations say young people have an increasing social and environmental awareness, with the energy and knowledge to lead the world towards a low-emission and climate-resilient future. Many of the young people present are already engaged in the climate action fight, taking part in local groups and working with NGOs, but also adopting environmentally friendly practices and implementing adaptation and mitigation projects.
