Loved ones gathered on Thursday to share memories of a 16-year-old Sumner Academy student who was shot to death during an attempted carjacking.

Relatives said Scott Sappington was shot less than a block away from his grandmother's house, where he had just dropped off his brother and sister.

Friends of Sappington gathered to remember the boy who always had a funny story to share.
