馃 This is an excerpt from one of my previous videos showing how easy it is to fake the colour of Mars with some simple steps. Are NASA hiding the true colours of the Mars surface? On the whole yes they are. Most of the imagery we get from NASA and other space agencies is heavily filtered to look less Earthlike and hide the water and greenery. 
I have shown a 2001 hubble image here that clearly has a blue sky with what may be large oceans surrounding the large continents. 
NASA has recently said that there is 2% water on Mars, but that is the minimum amount found in the most dry areas. The polar regions have around 70% water. Much of this is frozen but melts in the spring causing large parts of Mars to turn green every year. Look it up!
There are now many HiRISE images showing the true vivid colours of Mars but most people have never seen them.
