My second ever round of gameplay in Hardcore mode on Battlefield 4 PC. It starts off with me exacting revenge (starting at around 2:25) on a pair of snipers who had killed me a couple of times at the very start of the round. The video then goes on to demonstrate how an average round of Hardcore mode plays out. In my opinion, Hardcore mode has many benefits over normal mode in Battlefield 4. You can stay alive longer because you aren't spotted and identified across the entire map with a red marker. This makes using stealth a bit easier. Also, no more stories about plowing a magazine full of bullets into someone, only to have them turn around and kill you with a single shot. In Hardcore mode, the soldier who shoots first almost always gets the kill. Once you've gained basic familiarity with the maps in Normal mode, give Hardcore mode a try! The key differences between Hardcore and Normal mode in Battlefield 4 are: - Removal of the main HUD elements, such as health, ammo counter and minimap - Health doesn't regenerate without medpacks - No red triangles above spotted enemies - No crosshair - No hit markers - Much easier to kill (or be killed by) enemies with a few shots - Friendly fire is enabled Note that at the time this video was made, there was an issue with friendly markers (blue arrows) appearing late, which can result in inadvertant friendly kills. The 64-bit version of the game is running at 1920x1200, all settings on Ultra, except MSAA Off, SSAO, and Post Processing AA at Low combined with Motion Blur off, both to reduce blurring. Framerate when not recording with FRAPS is around 60-80 FPS on a stock i7 920 / GTX 580 system. Full system specs here: http://www.tweakguides.com/Hardcon09_2.html#System .
