Facebook chief executive Mark Zuckerberg to become ‘strict’ with the content on the website. He says Facebook will clean all the content from the site that can harm an individual. Or if an individual is being attacked, then that content will be removed from the platform. In the recent past, Facebook was accused of spreading violence in countries like Myanmar, Sri Lanka, and India. This step by Facebook is seen as a reaction to the rumours that spread on the website leading to violence among ethnic minorities. However, the new policy will not apply to Facebook-owned Whatsapp which is a primary medium for disseminating false information. India is Facebook’s largest market with over 200 million users. So, before the 2019 elections in India, Zuckerberg’s ‘big focus’ is on security-related issues
