This is a real quick edit of the clips from my first outing with the new adventure vehicle. It's the 2017 Subaru Crosstrek Premium in Desert Khaki...so it matches everything I wear, which is a bonus. I think 75 of the first 100 miles on the car were clocked on trails and off road. 

The plan is to put this little beast to good use through Spring, into Summer then Fall and Winter...It's ideal for road trips, camping or just going on a shoot for a day. Every effort will be made to find adventures in new and exciting places, visit lots of friends, point cameras at lots of things and do other fun stuff...this vehicle is a big factor in that.

The car is an enthusiast's car, almost no matter what you're into. It is good choice for a good number of reasons. Rather than being just a jacked up Impreza it's actually designed specifically to be capable off-road and in virtually any weather condition, while being great for daily driving as well. It has Subaru's legendary AWD, 8.5" of ground clearance, nice spacious interior, moonroof, rack and a whole bunch else to go along with the new car smell.

I've also been really happy with the way it drives and performs...and crucially, the fact that I can load a ton of camera gear in it and go anywhere I need to go, which my Miata is not nearly as well-suited to.

Despite the very nice build quality, loads of features, etc. it was actually pretty affordable. Subarus present a good value from day one and they tend to hang onto that value very well.

I'm already making plans for using the Crosstrek as a filming platform with multiple camera mounts, a crane, gimbal, etc....it's why I paid extra for the moonroof. I'll be posting more footage as time allows.
