1/ "La Jeanne d’Arc" brings French books for New York City Public Schools
In March 2010 after traveling more than 1,800,000 nautical miles in 46 years of service, the French helicopter carrier Jeanne d’Arc made its final port of call in New York. Its cargo was 2000 French language books for the children participating in the innovative French-English dual language and French Heritage language programs in New York public schools. The Ambassador of France Pierre Vimont was on hand for the book donation ceremony. Joining him were students from the Bronx, teachers, administrators, officials, and CANAPE.

2/ The Invisible Dog Art Center
Once upon a time in a country far, far away – Brooklyn in the 1970s – there existed a factory that manufactured leases for invisible dogs. By the turn of the century the leases were as invisible as the dogs. The factory was gone. But a man from France discovered the building and decided he could make art visible in the neighborhood. Thus was born The Invisible Dog Art Center. CANAPE visits and talks with founder Lucien Zayan.

3/ Henri Cartier-Bresson at MoMA
Memory and history are more than words. They are also images. Where did the 20th century go for its vision of itself? It’s safe to say one place was the photographic work of Henri Cartier-Bresson. A new exhibit at MoMA -- Henri Cartier-Bresson: The Modern Century -- gives beautiful evidence of the enduring impact of his art. As the first retrospective in over thirty years, the show gathers more than three hundred images arranged in thematic groups. Curator Peter Galassi talks to CANAPE about the French photographer who helped define his era.

4/ Christo
Artists Jeanne-Claude and Christo were bron on the same day, June 13th, 1935. Jeanne-Claude recently passed away, just shy of their 75th birthday. Christo invites us into their home and reflects on their life and work together.
