A grassfire has broken out in a river bottom this afternoon, according to officials. On May 2, at about 2 p.m., fire crews with the Kern County Fire Department went to the area near Roberts Lane and Manor Street regarding a grassfire. When crews arrived, they said they found a substantial area in flames.
