A prayer rally was held outside the Kern County Superior Court building in downtown Bakersfield for Tastries Bakery. Tastries has been in a legal battle after refusing to make a wedding cake for a same-sex couple in the fall of 2017. The owner of Tastries, Cathy Miller recommended other bakeries in town who would make the cake, but said that due to her religious convictions, she couldn't make a cake for the couple. The couple was already married before coming in asking for a wedding cake, according to court documents.
