More at http://www.theuptake.org Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty will meet with legislative leaders on Saturday to talk about a possible compromise on the state's budget. Earlier this week the Governor issued an ultimatum saying he would line item veto and unallot funds to have the budget more to his liking. What the Governor wants to do is borrow about 1 Billion dollars to pay for his budget. House Speaker Margaret Anderson Kelliher and the DFL Majority is opposed to the idea because the state's constitution requires a balanced budget and the cost to borrow would be nearly $ 2 Billion.
