We want to show you how to use https://hypeddit.com/ to build a bigger and better fan community around your music. With this video, I am going to introduce you to our email-to-download feature – very exciting stuff! Why does it matter? Engaging existing fans over and over again is the most fundamental key to success as a music artist, producer or record label! And with their email address, you can now engage your core fans where it matters most: in their inbox. First, let me show you how to activate our new email-to-download feature for a new fan gate. In this video, I am using the example of a SoundCloud fan gate, but it works just the same for YouTube or MixCloud gates. If you scroll down a little bit on the Create Fan Gate page, you can see that we added the email collection feature as a new on/off button in your fan gate settings. Just flip this switch to “on” and each fan will unlock your download with their email address. The great thing is that this new email feature work in addition to any other fan gate actions you already specified. That means you can combine the email collection with growing additional followers on SoundCloud, Youtube, Facebook, Spotify, Instagram, etc. You kind of get it all ;) Now let me show you how to activate the email-to-download feature for an existing fan gate. It’s just as easy. Select the fan gate for which you want to activate the email address collection. Then click on the “Edit” menu and select “Edit” again from the sub-menu. Here you’ll find the same on/off button we saw before. Just set it to “on” – confirm your changes – and done. The last thing I want to share with you is how to start using your fan email contacts. It’s very simple again. The fan gate table on your dashboard shows you how many email contacts each of your fan gates collected so far. This number is actually a download button. Just click on it to download a CSV file with all the email addresses of this particular fan gate. Now, the question is: ‘what’s the best way to use these email contacts?’ In order to turn your fans into highly engaged super fans, make sure you only email them with news they really care about – your new release or free download for example! The easiest way to do this is by using an email marketing app such as Mailchimp for example. This also helps you automate the opt-out process for any contacts who may no longer want to receive emails from you in the future. This is an important point: Fans who left their email address for you on your Hypeddit fan gate specifically opted into receiving emails from you. But you should still give them an option to opt out of emails if they change their mind in the future and to avoid spam. Please also don’t share these email addresses with any third parties – they are your fans’ contacts and only for you to use. OK – that’s it! I wish you lots of success with this new feature!
