Buddy the bald eagle returned to Hampton Roads on Monday, June 3, 2013, when he visited Great Bridge Primary School in Chesapeake from the Wildlife Center of Virginia. Buddy was hatched at the Norfolk Botanical Garden in 2008; he was taken to the wildlife center, in Waynesboro, for treatment of a mass on his beak. The mass was removed, but it caused the beak to grow unevenly. The wildlife center says Buddy can't be released into the wild.
