Here is some day 1 footage of the new Battlefield 3 expansion pack, Close Quarters. Hardcore BF fans were afraid DICE was about to go Call of Duty on a franchise known for its expansive, well, battlefields. After some hands on time, I've found that these levels are essentially miniaturized Kubra Dams. That is, they are very much vertical in nature, often spanning several floors and a feature rarely seen in COD.

I'm not greatly skilled, so this isn't meant to be a brag video, so much as a taste of the graphical sweetness CQ provides. This video was derived from 60 FPS 1080p gameplay on Ultra settings without FXAA for sharpness. (4x MSAA is still enabled) In my gameplay, I've found Scrap Metal and Operation 239 to be the most system-intensive. My favorite maps so far are Operation 239, a sprawling multi-story indoor office complex, and Ziba Tower, a similar (but much different) multi-story map. Scrap Metal is my least favorite, but is still fun.

Oh, and since you were wondering, that awesome song is the remix of "Open Your Heart" from Sonic Generations ('Open Your Heart - Crush 40 vs. Circuit Freq rmx'')
