Commuters on social networking sites had said part of the roof had fallen onto the tracks but Network Rail later refuted these claims. They said a section had become loose and was flapping in the wind and while engineers carried out safety checks services into two platforms were suspended. A Network Rail spokesperson said: “Platforms 7 and 8 at London Bridge have reopened and services have resumed between Charing Cross and London Bridge. However, there are delays as the service recovers. Passengers should check National Rail Enquiries for the latest travel information.” Earlier this afternoon, Network Rail were alerted to the flapping piece of the temporary roof by a member of staff. While safety checks was being carried out, Southeastern ran additional services to London Cannon Street and London Victoria.
