This is a song I wrote about the tendency to always associate people with other people and things with other things. Always comparison shopping!

This is not a cover acoustic of Somebody That I Used to Know by Gotye featuring Kimbra. From their gotyemusic page. It's an original song by me.

Lyrics
Somebody That I used to know

You look like somebody that I used to know
But I don't know them anymore so it's hard to tell
Yu look like a flower that I used to grow
But I didn't give it light so the pedals fell
One by one
The past is done

Platinum and white gold
Silver and steel
Clementines and oranges both have a peel
Three and four leaf clovers
Come on over
Slide a little closer
Do you borrow or steal?

Somebody That I used to know

You look like somebody that I used to know
But I don't know them anymore so it's hard to tell
Yu look like a flower that I used to grow
But I didn't give it light so the pedals fell
One by one
The past is done

Converted my CDs into playlists
Home videos on my phone
Its plain to see how much I've grown
Root beer and sarsaparilla
Crunchy and smooth
Peanut butter on bread or out the jar with a spoon

Somebody That I used to know

You look like somebody that I used to know
But I don't know them anymore so it's hard to tell
Yu look like a flower that I used to grow
But I didn't give it light so the pedals fell
One by one
The past is done

Magnifying glasses and microscopes
Irritation and pain
Hand sanitizer or hand soap
Goofy and insane
song.

Somebody That I used to know

You look like somebody that I used to know
But I don't know them anymore so it's hard to tell
Yu look like a flower that I used to grow
But I didn't give it light so the pedals fell
One by one
The past is done

You look just like somebody that I used to know
