United Nations, New York, 16 November 2009 - Statement by H.E. Mr. Tomas Mayr-Harting, President of Security Council, the Council condemned in the strongest terms the terrorist attacks in Baghdad on 19 August and 25 October 2009. The 15-member body also endorsed the Secretary-Generals appeal to all Iraqi political blocs and their leaders to demonstrate true statesmanship during the election campaign and participate in a spirit of national unity.
