(24 Oct 2018) Police in South Florida say they are investigating reports of a suspicious package in an area near the office of Rep. Deborah Wasserman Schultz, the former chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee. In an alert sent on Twitter, Sunrise police are asking people to stay away from Sawgrass Corporate Parkway, where Wasserman Schultz's office is located. The alert didn't specifically mention the congresswoman. The news followed a rash of attacks reported against Hillary Clinton and former President Barack Obama. Clinton was in Coral Gables at a campaign event Wednesday morning for Donna Shalala, who is running for congress. Sunrise is a suburb of Fort Lauderdale. No additional information has been released.
