Stefania Druga is the founder of Hackidemia, which is an organization that provides a learning and playing environment for kids to do citizen science in collaboration with students and researchers. She talks about the best part of childhood: toys! Her message is that the toys we play with as kids help shape the ideas that we have about gender roles and identity as adults. Even more important, we can change these ideas of gender by changing the toys that kids play with and how girls and boys play together. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
