Chinese President Xi Jinping has held separate meetings with Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam and Macao Chief Executive Fernando Chui. Lam and Chui briefed Xi Jinping on the situation in the two Special Administrative Regions and the work of their local governments. President Xi Jinping said the two regions have adhered to the "One Country, Two Systems" policy and upheld their respective Basic Laws. He said they have played an active role in the development of the Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Greater Bay Area, as well as the Belt and Road Initiative. Hong Kong and Macao still have an irreplaceable role to play in China's process of opening-up, he added. President Xi Jinping expressed hope that there will be further integration of the development of Hong Kong and Macao with the overall national development. #XiJinping Subscribe to us on YouTube: https://goo.gl/lP12gA Download our APP on Apple Store (iOS): https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/cctvnews-app/id922456579?l=zh&ls=1&mt=8 Download our APP on Google Play (Android): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.imib.cctv Follow us on: Website: https://www.cgtn.com/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ChinaGlobalTVNetwork/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/cgtn/?hl=zh-cn Twitter: https://twitter.com/CGTNOfficial Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/CGTNOfficial/ Tumblr: http://cctvnews.tumblr.com/ Weibo: http://weibo.com/cctvnewsbeijing
