This year, the Harnett lab discovered that human dendrites have unique electrical properties, which may contribute to the enhanced computing power of the human brain. The neurons featured in this holiday greeting were inspired by Harnett's pioneering work recording from hard-to-obtain samples of living human brain tissue.
