Some major retailers are not so healthy food friendly when it comes to SNAP recipients. Better bring cash if you want to get diabetic friendly snacks or food from some Walgreens and CVS locations across the U.S. Tried to get these diabetic friendly candy bars that control blood sugar levels at CVS and at a Walgreens tried to get some rice cakes by the same brand and at neither place would they allow them to be purchased. I could however buy a regular candy bar or bag of chips from either place with the EBT/SNAP card. In addition I was able to purchase a diabetic friendly Nutisystem meal box from WalMart without issues. So to the USDA and Michelle Obama.... what now? $30,000 shopping carts are useless when you cant buy the stuff that is good for you.
