US Lawmakers Question AIG Chief on Bonuses

The chief executive of American International Group (AIG) told members of Congress on Wednesday that he has asked employees who received large bonuses to return the money. His testimony came as anger mounted across the country over 165 million dollars in bonuses at the company which received billions in taxpayer dollars aimed at preventing its collapse. Democratic Party lawmakers have announced plans for a vote on a bill that would tax away 90 percent of the extra pay AIG executives received.
