Minister Moses Gives His Side Of Airport Incident

Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs, Dennis Moses, has given an account of the events which transpired at the Piarco International Airport that led to the suspension of a security guard at the Airports Authority. In a statement, Minister Moses said he and the Minister of Planning and Development, Camille Robinson-Regis, arrived at Piarco International Airport on September 20th, from Guyana where they were on official duty. Minister Moses said in keeping with standard protocol, and for ease of departure, they were guided through Duty Free to the first visible exit. He said the Airports Authority security personnel indicated that they exit through the Customs area, even after the Protocol Officer identified the Ministers. According to the statement, following an exchange between the security officer and Minister Moses, the party exited via the Customs area. In a letter dated November 16th, the Airports Authority advised Estate Constable Kelvon Alexander of a two-week suspension without pay for conduct that was "discourteous, injudicious and below the standard of professional judgement."
