The Centre Magnétique, a project started by two McGill university students, is a coworking space and an incubator for the citizens, entrepreneurs, enterprises, self-employed workers, local community organizations and tourists. Developed in partnership with the MRC du Granit (the regional government) and its development agency, the space is composed by meeting rooms, a creativity lab, office space and open spaces. The Centre Magnétique manages this space and the community. Do not hesitate to visit our website, www.centremagnetique.ca and our Facebook page, www.facebook.com/centremagnetique The McGill students behind the Centre Magnetique developed their concept as part of a class at the Desautels Faculty of Management. Recently, municipal officials from the Lac Megantic region, along with local entrepreneurs, students, and business leaders, came to McGill and Montreal for a 2-day visit to learn more about co-working spaces and how this concept could help re-vitalize the business sector in Lac Megantic following the tragic train crash that destroyed the town centre in July 2013.
