While still on Shore Line East Train 3618, the express to Old Saybrook, we go from Mill River Interlocking, which is the east end of Metro North's property, to just past Branford Station. The two tracks that split off to the left are the tracks that go past Cedar Hill Yard towards Springfield. As we pass the split off, we meet Amtrak Train 161,the Northeast Regional to Washington Union Station. 161 consists of an AEM7 and 9 Amfleet I coaches which includes a cafe car.
