The Lafayette Parish School voted to reduce the number of Librarians and School Safety Officers (SSO). This will reduce the number of SSOs for eight to six leaving a SSO at Moss Prep and Northside High. Librarians will be reduced by five and a half positions. This would leave all parish public high schools with on Librarian. Principals do have the option of adjusting master schedule to save the positions. Principals could reduce teacher's position and use that salary to pay for the SSO or librarians.
