As part of CCA's Center for Art and Public Life's IMPACT Awards, the Nirmoktra team presented its project on Thursday, April 7, 2016, in Timken Lecture Hall on the San Francisco campus of California College of the Arts (CCA). Nirmoktra is the Sanskrit word meaning “to empower through knowledge.” Team Nirmoktra decided to bring creative problem-solving skills and critical thinking strategies to rural India. At the Swami Vivekanand Model Government School in Kherwara, Rajasthan, the team worked with over 160 students and several teachers to develop the best ways of integrating these tools and frameworks into the curriculum.
